Kerrytown Concert House/Tuesday, July 6
Their names are Terrence McManus and Gerry Hemingway, and experimental jazz and improvisation is their forte. For one night only, the Kerrytown Concert House presents an unpredictable set of music by the duo playing guitar and drums, respectively. McManus, a New York Native, has performed guitar pieces with some of the biggest names. Hemingway—a drumming virtuoso—is best known for his role in the 1970s trio BassDrumBone. Together, McManus and Hemingway use acoustic and electronic sounds to create improvised music without boundaries. Expect traditional Thelonious Monk tunes extended into hardcore industrial noise textures. 8 p.m. $10-$25. Kerrytown Concert House, 415 N. 4th Ave. 734-769-2999/www.kerrytownconcerthouse.com.
